I have been using several parts of the training with my students. I have found in particular that “scaling” during my appointments and then focusing on how to make small positive changes has been very successful. This training has changed the way that I think about mental health support entirely. The idea of the client being the “expert” and therefore holding the key knowledge about what will benefit them was truly eye-opening. As somebody who meets with a lot of students in a short period of time, these tools will revolutionise the amount of stories I take on, and therefore reduce the energy spent during meetings allowing me to serve more students without burning out as quickly. An engaging, hilarious, eye-opening and transformation two day session; Silent Session, Change Balloon, “staying small” and scaling are such useful tools.
